Privacy Policy

MyTrader AI ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our iOS application ("the App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using MyTrader AI, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to make the App work for you:
- Account data — if you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password (or your Sign in with Apple identifier).
- Trading journal content — trades, P&L figures, notes, emotional tags, screenshots and any other content you add. This data stays associated with your account.
- Usage & diagnostics — anonymised crash reports, performance metrics and feature-usage events to improve stability.
- Device information — device model, iOS version and language, used for compatibility and support.
We do not collect your contacts, photos (unless you attach one to a journal entry), microphone, location, health data, or financial account credentials. MyTrader AI never connects to your brokerage account.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core App functionality (journaling, discipline scoring, calendar, AI coaching).
- To sync your journal across your own devices when you are signed in.
- To generate personalised AI coaching responses based on the trades and notes you choose to share with the AI feature.
- To diagnose crashes and improve performance.
- To send essential service messages (e.g. password reset). We do not send marketing emails without your opt-in.
3. AI Coaching Feature
When you use the AI Trading Coach, the prompts you send and the relevant journal context may be transmitted to a third-party large-language-model provider (e.g. OpenAI or Anthropic) strictly to generate a response. These providers are contractually bound not to use your content to train their models. Conversations are stored on your device and in your account history so you can review them.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Service providers that host our backend, send transactional emails, deliver push notifications, or power the AI feature, under strict confidentiality.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety or property.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition or asset sale, with notice to you.
5. Apple App Store Privacy Disclosures
In line with Apple's App Store privacy requirements, the data types that may be linked to your identity are: Contact Info (email), User Content (your journal entries and AI conversations), Identifiers (account ID), and Usage Data and Diagnostics. We do not use your data for tracking across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework to request tracking permission.
6. Data Storage & Security
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest on our infrastructure. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. We restrict employee access to production data on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account and journal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting reasons.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Export your journal in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

9. Children's Privacy
MyTrader AI is rated 17+ and is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect international transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
